Love Norwalk is all about Fellowship's efforts in making disciples right here in our part of Central Iowa. That begins with making our presence known on a regular basis in our community and offering creative ways for the people of our community to connect with our church family and for us as a church body to share the Gospel with everyone we are able. Examples of these outreaches include Christmas Eve services, Synchronized Lights & Live Nativity, Easter services, serving pizza in the Norwalk schools during parent-teacher conferences, Valentine's Businesses Outreach, our annual Norwalk Schools Employees Lunch, and summer children outreaches. Watch our calendar and announcements for future "Love Norwalk" events!

Purpose & Vision

Love Norwalk is an expression of the commitment that Fellowship has to make disciples right here where God has planted us in the city of Norwalk. Jesus himself modeled a heart of compassion in His ministry as he cared for the poor, the outcast, the marginalized, the sick, needy and the lost.  Jesus has left us, the church, here to be His hands and feet to the people of Norwalk. We want to reach out in practical ways to meet the various needs of our community showing compassion like Jesus did. Jesus instructed His followers to start the discipling process right where they were by witnessing to the people in Jerusalem.
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."  Acts 1:8
They weren't to stop in Jerusalem and they didn't. Neither should we. But making disciples begins where God geographically plants us. Someone has said, "The light that shines the farthest shines the brightest at home." Our mission at Fellowship is to make disciples of all peoples especially among those who have yet to be reached. That mission begins right here at home, in Norwalk. We want to shine the light of Christ's saving love as brightly as we can!
The general focus of Fellowship's Love Norwalk efforts can be classified as "Pre-Evangelism", that is, they are designed to build relational bridges to our community and to express Christian love in practical ways in tandem with the evangelistic efforts of our church and the ACTS Network as well as the personal evangelism efforts that God expects of all of us individually. Without our individual and collective verbal witness, our pre-evangelistic efforts will produce little, if any, eternal fruit. Yet it is imperative we earn the right to be heard and that's what Love Norwalk is all about.
Our long-term vision is to see Norwalk become known as a "Christian community" because of the influential presence of so many Christ followers living as "salt" and "light" in Jesus' name. We want to make it hard for people living in 50211 to go to hell!
"You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled by men. You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden... Let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven."  Matthew 5:13-16
